With the new year comes goal setting. Some goals are for yourself and some for your business. If you are looking to enhance your business with Social Media look no further. This blog will give you tips on working with Facebook and Instagram to boost your business; How to get more followers, have better engagement, and keep your products top of mind.
How to Get Followers
To start you should be using a Facebook Business Page over a personal page. If you don't know the difference between a business page and a personal page take a look at the difference between them here. While you can pull customers from your personal account to get started, having a business page will make you more professional. Not to mention, your business page is much easier to find for those that may not already be your friend on Facebook or don’t want to “friend” you. Business pages can simply be “followed”, taking the pressure off new customers. Don’t forget to invite people* to your Facebook Business Page, frequently as you meet new people and clients. This could even be done with a quick invite in messenger. Note* on the invite friends list on Facebook there is a little checkbox at the bottom to send an invite in messenger. I recommend this as many do not see the notification. People may not know you have a business page until you invite them. Maybe you’ve already done this? Try following others on social media and engaging with them. People tend to return the favor and follow you back. Win-win.
Tip for Cabi Stylists: Create a Follow me on Instagram and Facebook small sign and frame it next to your jewelry display at Cabi shows.
Keep in mind the more followers you have the better Reach you are getting. A true marker of success is not the “likes” that you get on a post, but your Reach of how many people saw it. The more times they see it, the more they will want to buy what you are selling.
Engagement, Engagement, Engagement!
So, you’ve got plenty of followers, now what? First of all, there is no such thing as too many followers, so keep at it! That being said, the next step is engagement. Do you comment on other peoples’ posts? Maybe you do, or maybe only a little. Commenting on others’ posts will build your customer's trust in you. Not to mention it gets them to recognize your name and maybe pay a visit to your page. You may think you don’t have time for all that. I promise it’s not as bad as you think. Spending about 30 minutes a week will do the trick. That’s four and a half minutes a day or just about as much time as waiting in line for your coffee every morning.
Keeping Top of Mind
Ok, so you have lots of followers and you already spend plenty of time on engagement. How else can you enhance your Social Media you ask? By keeping your products top of mind. Let’s take a look at what that means exactly. Typically, buyers need to see a product advertised more than once before they decide to purchase. The amount of times needed is referred to in advertising as “effective frequency”. According to the Pew Research Center, most people log into their social media accounts at least once per day. Buyers are always looking. Don’t let your pages go unnoticed.
